Weichai Power Project signed on Civilian Economic Development Summit < Back
December 2, 2009, with 'new Pudong, New Opportunity, New Development' as the theme, first Pudong New Aera Civilian Economic Development Summit was held at Shanghai Dongjiao State Guest Hotel. Lin XU, standing committee member of Municipal Committee and secretary of District Committee, Xinkui WANG, vice-chairman of Municipal CPPCC and chairman of Chamber of Commerce, Liang JIANG, deputy secretary-general of Municipal Committee and District Governor, and presidents of nearly 100 private enterprises attended the summit. Ever since the merger of Pudong New Area and Nanhui District in August 2009, this was the first time of the government of Pudong New Area and private entrepreneurs gathering together to discuss how to create better opportunities for development of private enterprises.


Project agreements with a total investment of 20 billion were signed by a number of well-known enterprises, Pudong New Area government and its functional areas, industrial parks at the summit. The letter of intent for the cooperation framework of 'Weichai (Shanghai) Science & Technology Industry Park' was signed at the summit by Long ZHANG, director of Kangqiao Industrial Zone Management Committee and Weichai Power Co., Ltd, which project would settle in German Industrial Park.

The project covers a floor area of about 288 mu, with scope of planning and site selection of eastwards to Miaoqiao Road, southwards to Zhoudeng Road, westwards to Gaoxin River and Northwards to planned red line of Kangwei Road. Total investment is about 1.5 billion RMB and the expected output will be hundreds of million when the project is completed.
